Aspendale Stingrays is the 2018 Football Victoria Club of the Year!

A huge thank you goes out to all of the Aspendale committee members, coaches, assistant coaches, team managers/coordinators, junior refs, parents who help out week after week and the players.

Take a bow everyone; the huge effort that has gone in this year and all the the years gone by is truly amazing. You deserve this recognition.

Stingrays scores lighting at Jack Grut Reserve

On Monday 30th July an official announcement was made from the State Minister for Sports and Recreation, John Eren, who along with the City of Kingston will provide $190,000 funding for lighting at Jack Grut Reserve. This will fully light the Reserve for training and potential night games for the 2019 season. A great outcome for the Rays with more good news to come soon!

Aspendale SC VCH Active Grant Recipient

Building on momentum generated by the health promotion foundation’s successful This Girl Can – Victoria campaign, VicHealth have awarded new funding to help local sport clubs across Victoria deliver more opportunities for women and girls to get active.

Aspendale SC have been selected as a lucky recipient to receive funding to provide equipment. This is a great reward for all the hard work done by the club in developing opportunities for our female members.

Stingrays Back to the Club – Sunday 6th May

Come down and join our first Back to the Club for 2018, let the kids run around, tire themselves out and stay for pizza dinner. The bar will be open.

We give a boot!

Aspendale SC are proud to support ‘We give a boot‘.

At the start of the 2016 season three football mad sisters in Melbourne aged 12, 10 & 8 started a charity initiative called “We Give a Boot”. The aim of “We Give a Boot” is to collect used soccer & footy boots in good condition to donate to those who are less fortunate than us & who just want to play our beautiful game.

Stingrays Seniors off the mark in FFA Cup

On Saturday February 17th, Aspendale Stingrays played their first competitive match as a state league seniors team in the FFA cup against Warrnambool Wolves. Tensions were high as the relatively new club looked to impress, and even with only 3 seniors players with 13 U20/U18s filling in, the team dominated for a solid 90 minutes and managed to win 4-0.
